Petrichor plays garage rock. As lifelong Washingtonians, the members of Petrichor are steeped in the straightedge, socially-conscious punk that came out of DC and Dischord Records in the 1980s. They also take influence from Bikini Kill, Fidlar, Misfits, Green Day, and pop metal bands like Metallica. Petrichor were inspired to form as a band after a turn at Girls Rock! DC, a social change and empowerment program disguised as a rock camp. The foursome has grown beyond band camp status thanks to the deeply supportive DC music scene.
