Igor Records - a Pittsburgh label created by Bone of Contention in the '90s for their debut LP- has come back to life with two new releases.
First is a split single, with two takes on weird indie pop. Creedmoors is the brainchild of Joe Tarowsky (Action Camp, St. Dude). Pink Gin Marimbas is the blurry, dreamy work of Rob Rayshich (who released music on Igor in the Minimalist Love Gods).
The second is Play It Backwards, the full length vinyl album by the Harry Von Zells. Part noisy, part catchy, the band has played just a few shows but is regenerating. They include Mike Shanley (Bone of Contention, Love Letters) and Erik Cirelli (Emily Rodgers Band, Skeletonized). Play It Backwards features guest appearances by guitarist/banjo whiz Wendy Eisenberg (Editrix).
April 29 serves as a record release show, the return of the Harry Von Zells and the performance debut of Creedmoors and Pink Gin Marimbas.
