Come experience the birth of The Hot Club of Pittsburgh! What is THP? The Hot Clubs of America have been around since the 1930s where people gather to listen to recordings of hot jazz on 78 RPM. Noted jazz historian/ producer and all around cool guy Phil Schaap has anointed me to create this group where people will gather in public spaces to experience the actual sounds emanating from the actual 78 RPM records on historic equipment! If you've ever heard an original 78 in person played directly, you know that it is the closest thing to a time machine we can experience! I've done similar events spinning klezmer 78s and the public goes wild! You will too! Come join us and let the joy begin!
