Shrapknel

Curly Castro and PremRock; a duo as dissimilar as they are made for each other. The two artists are a veritable study in contrasts and contradictions, Castro was born and raised in Brooklyn but lives in Philadelphia, PremRock grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania but has been in New York since ‘08. Castro’s militant wordplay, reggae-influences, and booming baritone somehow perfectly balance PremRock’s silver-tongued flows, literary allusions and deadpan humor. ShrapKnel is a Venn diagram of ill communications; Schooly D to Stromile Swift. Def Jux to Detlef Schremf. Students of Black Uhuru and Breeze Brewin, Baldwin and Bukowski. Steel sharpens steel and this blade is as sharp as it gets.

Rich Jones is a recording artist, performer, promoter and all around life enthusiast from the North West side of Chicago. For over a decade, he has taken his talents near and far, playing everywhere from your cousin's neighbor's basement 2 states over to some of the larger venues and festivals in his hometown and beyond. He has also had the privilege of being featured by several publications such as NPR, the Huffington Post, Bandcamp, Fakeshoredrive, the Chicago Reader and the Chicago Tribune amongst others. Most recently, he was named runner up in the Chicago Reader's Readers Poll for Best Individual Hip Hop Artist. The bottom line - whether it's music, food, art, etc. - if it's good, he probably knows about it or will know about it sooner than later and he won't be able to shut up about it once he does. Just ask!
